Check the cushions
Remotes and keys love to hide in sofas. Let us know in advance if it is oversized or will not fit back through the door.
We carry it out
Our two-person team removes it from wherever it is, even upstairs, with care for your walls and floors.
Recycled properly
Sofas go to a licensed facility where foam, wood, metal and fabric are separated. You get a digital Waste Transfer Note.

- Raw food and meat waste (Category 3 animal by-products)
- Asbestos, licensed or unlicensed
- Needles, sharps and clinical waste
- Chemicals, solvents and most paints
- Gas bottles and pressurised containers

Why sofas need proper disposal
Most upholstered sofas contain foam treated with fire retardants that can include persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Since 2023, Environment Agency rules say upholstered seating containing POPs must be destroyed, usually by incineration, rather than sent to landfill. A licensed waste carrier, like us, makes sure that happens and gives you the paperwork to prove it.
Can I donate my sofa instead?
If your sofa is in very good condition and still has its fire safety label attached, charities such as the British Heart Foundation may collect it for free. If a charity will not take it, we offer a quick, fixed-price alternative.

Yes. Junkbusters is a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency (licence CBDU654313) and every job comes with a Waste Transfer Note, so you have proof your waste was handled legally. Waste goes to licensed transfer and recycling facilities, never landfill by default.
If it is safe to do so, we can dismantle your sofa before removing it. For health and safety reasons we cannot remove doors or lower a sofa out of a window. Let us know before booking if it is oversized.
No. Unlike many council collections, we collect from inside your home, including upstairs. If you will be out, you can leave it outside to make sure we can collect.
If we cannot reach your sofa at the agreed time we charge a missed collection fee of £29.99 and refund the balance. Please make sure we have clear access.
